Serving East Yorkshires Towns and Villages

Monitored burglar alarm systems are usually specified by the client’s insurance company or by our surveyor, who grades the business activity and the risk of financial loss that may occur following a burglary.

Alarm Monitoring

Alarm monitoring is more usually associated with commercial premises but the need arises in a domestic situation where insurers ask for it or where the customer feels the need for it.

The system installed may be the same or similar to a bells only system, except when the alarm is activated, a signal informs an Alarm Receiving Centre.

They may confirm that the alarm is not false, and if necessary, they inform the Police and keyholder. Alarm systems in this category are engineer-inspected and tested twice a year as a mandatory requirement of the police authority

Monitored Alarms

Monitored alarm systems don’t always have to have a police response. A customer may wish to have a keyholder response only.

Keyholder names and telephone numbers are held by the alarm receiving centre and called upon should the need arise. Alarm systems in this category are engineer inspected and tested once a year.

Fire Alarm Monitoring

The technology for monitoring Fire alarms is the same as that used in the monitored of burglar alarms.

The signalling equipment can be a “stand-alone” unit with its own power supply and backup batteries, or a fire alarm panel can work in conjunction with the site burglar alarm signalling equipment.

Digicom (Digital Communicator) signalling

With this system, alarm signals from the system are monitored by an Alarm Receiving Centre, but the telephone line is not monitored, so if it is cut, no signal is sent. If the telephone cable is accessible, the system can be easily overcome, although the sounders will operate.

CSL G2r (GPRS Radio Module) signalling

The CSL G2r is ideal for installations where there is no telephone line available. By utilising Radio GPRS (mobile phone technology), there are no associated call costs that end users would experience with telephone line based signalling such as digital communicators.

The GPRS module periodically poll’s to the alarm receiving centre to confirm signalling integrity. Should polling fail, the alarm receiving centre becomes aware of a signal path failure.

CSL Dualcom (digital communicator/GPRS Radio Module) Dual Path Signalling

These are systems that monitor the signal path between the protected premises and the Alarm Receiving Centre. Dual Path Signalling is a (Digicom) digital communicator combined with a (CSL G2r) GPRS module.

Under normal circumstances, the digital communicator and GPRS module periodically poll to the alarm receiving centre to confirm signalling integrity.

Should one of the signal paths fail, the good path immediately signals a path failure to the alarm receiving centre. Should both paths fail, the alarm receiving centre becomes aware of a polling failure.

The frequency of polling is dependent on the grade of the equipment. Higher grades poll more frequently, lower grades poll less frequently.
